Explore one of the most scenic caves in the nation through a guided tour that leaves every few minutes. Osage Indians discovered the beautiful cave that lies beneath Thunder Mountain. Local folklore tells of a legendary Indian wedding ceremony held in the cave in the early 1800s. The CAMDEN COUNTY CHILD ADVOCACY COUNCIL provides support to area schools, Children's Division, Family Support Division, Foster Parents, and individuals and families referred by various community agencies. Some of our programs they provide throughout the year are Christmas is Sharing, Arts in the Park, Coats for Kids, Lice Treatment Program, Emergency Dental for Children, Scholarships for graduating Seniors of Horizons/Alternative Schools in the Camdenton School District, Miscellaneous Grants to individual needy children for things such as sending an autisitc child to summer camp, new eye glasses for children, or to buy new clothing for children when the Thrift Store does not have their correct size in stock. Clothing and household items are also provided to those in need when referred to by Family Support Division, Children's Division or a civic organization.
Meetings are held at 6:30 PM, the 3rd Tuesday of month at Mid County FPD, 184 State Hwy 5, Camdenton. The Thift Store is open Tues-Sat, 10am-2pm at 77 Dawson Rd., Camdenton, MO. Volunteers are always welcome.

As a water-based park, Lake of the Ozarks State Park offers excellent opportunities for water recreation. Two free public swimming beaches include bathhouses and shady picnic areas nearby. Boats can be rented for either fishing or skiing at the park's two marinas. Paved boat ramps are available.
In addition to hiking and backpacking trails, the park has three equestrian trails and two mountain biking trails.
For the overnight guests, campsites, ranging from primitive to electric hookups, are available to campers year-round. Campground facilities include modern restrooms, laundry facilities and dumping stations. For a rustic experience without pitching a tent, eight primitive log cabins offer a quiet, secluded setting. Morgan County was organized January 5, 1833, and was named for Daniel Morgan, a Revolutionary War general. The County consists of 594 square miles and has an approximate population of 20,000.

The first engraving on The Mothers? Wall of Life was on April 1, 1999. The Mothers? Wall is a tribute to motherhood and family life, for all mother?s living or deceased, regardless of race, color or creed. There are now 37 states and 13 countries represented on the Wall, making this the most meaningful shrine in the country.
A magnificent Shrine dedicated to Mary, Mother of the Church features an awe inspiring fourteen-foot stainless steel sculpture of Mary, which stands in a natural amphitheatre surrounded by beautiful fountains.

An organization of dedicated artists that maintains a continuous gallery on the first and second floors of the First National Bank in Camdenton. The historic Willmore Lodge is a log building completed in 1930 by the Union Electric Company, (now AmerenUE). It served as an administrative and entertainment center for the Bagnell Dam construction project.
