The Camdenton R-III School District consists of three campuses and serves more than 4,000 students. School educational buildings are Camdenton High School, Camdenton Middle School, Dogwood Elementary, Hawthorn Elementary, Horizons Laker Educational, Hurricane Deck Elementary, Lake Career and Technical Center, Oak Ridge Intermediate, and Osage Beach Elementary. Numerous after-school programs are in place to enhance the learning experience of students. The City of Camdenton, Home of the Lakers of the Camdenton R-III School District, has a Mayor, City Administrator, and a six-member Board of Aldermen, with two Aldermen serving each of the three Wards, as its form of government. Board of Aldermen are elected for two-year terms. The Board of Aldermen are the policymakers for the city, and the City Administrator puts the policies in place. Board members are the voice of the residents and businesses within their Wards. Residents of Camdenton are encouraged to seek out the Alderman of their Ward with suggestions and concerns to assist Aldermen in the development of the city.

The City of Laurie, MO., is served by a Mayor and two Aldermen, for each for its two Wards, a city clerk and a prosecuting attorney. Laurie is a fourth-class city centered between the cities of Versailles to the north and Camdenton to the south. Laurie is in Camden County and was incorporated in 1964 with a population of 106, according to the 2010 census, the population is now 921. Camden County lies in the south central part of Missouri, and is bordered by Morgan; Miller; Pulaski; Laclede; Dallas; Hickory; and Benton Counties. Camden County is 655.2 square miles, or 419,330 acres. It was established January 29, 1841, as Old Kinderhook County. The name was changed by the General Assembly of Missouri on February 23, 1843. Columbia College Lake of the Ozarks, is a private, co-educational liberal arts and sciences college offering associate degrees, bachelor's degrees and teacher certification on campus and online. Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. was formed to assist surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. With the National chapter formed in Camdenton, Mo. in 1984, membership has swelled to more than 50 chapters nationwide. There is no membership fee. C.O.P.S. Day Break Rotary Club of Lake of the Ozarks is a charter of Rotary Internationanl and the world's first service club organization. Day Break Rotary is made up of volunteers from the local community and work together to provide support for the area with the motto "Service Above Self". The club meets at First Family Church Highway 42, Friday mornings across from the School of the Osage High School and begins with a breakfast buffet at 7:00 am. The club provides scholarships to local college or vocational and technical high school students. The Dream Factory is the second-largest children's wish-granting organization in the United States and is the only children's wish-granting organization that does not limit its services to children who have a life-threatening illness. Funds are raised by local volunteers and benefit local children and their families. The group strives to relive emotional and physical stress placed on families with ill children. Hope House provides emergency assisstance to families in eastern Camden County from State Road KK east, through Osage Beach and Lake Ozark, the North Shore to Rocky Mount, halfway to Eldon, and into the remainder of Miller County. Hope House operates a food pantry and thirft store that provides those in need with food, clothing, household goods and school supplies. Operating expenses are furnished primarily by supporting churches in the Lake-area. Community individuals and business also donate items. Love offerings are deeply appreciated. Monies generated in the thrift store are used to stock the food pantry, and to provide emergency and short-term financial aid. Serving the west side of Lake of the Ozarks, and it's surrounding communities, Laurie Sunrise Beach Rotary Club members are committed to the environment and the community volunteering with Adopt a Highway Road Clean-Up and Share The Harvest Food Pantry helping to purchase supplies and handle distributions through volunteer hours. The club hosts high school exchange students and offers local students the opportunity to become a Rotary Youth Exchange Student Ambassador. Student Ambassadors spend a year abroad enabling them to learn about world cultures while building friendships and engaging with people of all walks of life. Considered the Heart of Lake of the Ozarks, Osage Beach is managed under a City Administrator with a number of departments to handle all city functions. Osage Beach has three wards, with two elected aldermen per ward, and an elected mayor. Osage Beach employs more than 100 full-time employees, and several part-time employees each summer. According to the 2010 census, Osage Beach has a population of 4,351 and hosts as many as 100,000 people on any given summer weekend, including second homeowners and weekend vacationers. The district was recognized in 2012 with an award for Distinction in Performance?High Level at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
